More than 210.000 Belgians speeding in France this summer
In France you get fined when exceeding the speed limit with 1 kilometre at 50 kph. The correction is 5 kph up to a maximum speed of 100 kph and 5 per cent of the measured speed at a maximum speed of over 100 kph. In Belgium the tolerances are bigger.
Changing speed limits
VAB thinks Belgian drivers are sufficiently aware of the changing speed limits on motor ways around and through French cities. The most active speed camera is the one in Montpellier, where speed is limited to 90 kph because of the proximity of the city. There are several places like that. At none of the most active speed traps in France 130 kph is allowed.
Who pays within 46 days gets a lower fine. After 76 days the fixed fine is raised.
