Car looses 30 to 60% of its value first year
Against the odds hybrids are not doing well on the second hand market. The Toyota Prius even loses 59,3 per cent of its value. “The second hand sector is reluctant because of the expensive technology. They have to give a one year warranty so in case of a battery failure, the most expensive component, they lose money.”
With a loss of 47,2 per cent a Porsche Carrera Cabriolet GTS isn’t doing well either. “Because of the high taxes the luxury segment got a blow. Those wanting to buy a luxury car chose for a Tesla or an hybrid Porsche because they are more tax-friendly”, Decrock explains.
